For a traditional Tandoori flavor in less time, our medium-heat Indian seasoning blend of paprika, turmeric, ginger and over 16 other spices and herbs adds just the right amount of heat to Indian dishes of chicken, lamb, seafood, turkey, veggies and rice dishes.

  • To create a marinade with medium heat for chicken, lamb or seafood – combine equal parts Punjab Red Tandoori, yogurt and lemon juice; serve with Basmati rice for an authentic Indian meal.
  • For grilling or roasting, use 1 Tbsp per lb of meat.
  • To add flavor to rice dishes and sauces, add 2 tsp per cup.

Tandoori Chicken
Remove skin from 2-1/2 lbs chicken thighs & score pieces; place chicken & 2 T lemon juice in plastic bag, seal & marinade 20 min; combine 4 T blend with 2 cups whole milk yogurt; add to chicken, turn to coat & refrigerate 1 hour.  Bring chicken to room temp; remove from sauce & bake at 400F for 40-50 min.

Tandoori Tomato Dip
Combine 8 oz whipped cream cheese, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, 1 T chopped cilantro & 1/2 tsp blend; serve with veggies or crackers.

Spicy Orange Chicken Wings
Combine 3 T blend & 3 T thawed orange juice concentrate; add 2 lbs chicken wings; cover & refrigerate 2 hours.  Place wings on foiled baking sheets & roast in 375F oven for 30-35 min, flipping halfway through cooking.

Tandoori Swordfish
Whisk together 1 cup Greek yogurt, 2 T grated ginger, 1 T minced garlic, 2 T lemon juice & 1 T blend; add 1 lb swordfish filets & marinade for 30 min.  Remove from marinade & grill over high heat for 4 min per side.

Spicy Avocado Relish
Combine 2 diced ripe avocados, juice of 1 lime, 1 T blend, 1/4 cup diced red onion, 1 diced tomato & 1-2 T diced cilantro; stir & serve as relish to pork, chicken or fish

    Found this at World Market (of course, right before they stopped carrying this one) and fell absolutely head over heals with this. I love paprika on just about anything, but this is another dimension. When my mom came to visit me, I told her she’d love this. She sprinkled some on a plate and dipped her finger in it and was hooked. She kept trying to think of things we could make for dinner using it. So when Christmas came, duh… 3 bottles in her stocking. She called me the other day to tell me the bad news – she’s now out, so I’m “forced” to get online and buy some more for her and for me – just in case I get low. This of course means I am going to shop online for some other spices, too. I’m excited to stock up on my Punjab fix but also can’t wait to try some other delicious flavors after reading some reviews. Urban Accents – if you discontinue this product, I will hunt you down and find where you live 🙂

    This is a great product with an authentic taste. The recipe on the jar yields a dish as close to authentic as I can manage without an actual tandor and an Indian national. Great flavor without too much heat.

    We use the recipe on the bottle to make tandoori marinade. It is wonderful–particularly on chicken thighs and rack of lamb. Marinade over night and then grill. So simple and delicious.
