A coarsely ground version of a spicy Caribbean standard seasoning, our  blend combines brown sugar, black pepper, red pepper, jalapeño pepper, chili pepper, onion, garlic and spices.

Popular as a seasoning for marinating chicken and pork, it also adds a spicy snap when sprinkled on pork, lamb, shrimp and any other grilled meat.

  • Use 2 Tbsp per pound of meat or poultry as a rub
  • Replace nutmeg in cheese-based recipes
  • Coat chicken, pork loin or steak with a bit of olive oil, then sprinkle with seasoning before grilling or roasting
  • Mix 1 Tbsp into 1 Tbsp apricot preserves for a spicy wing glaze
  • Stir into sauces, soups and stews to add a bit of Island heat
  • Sprinkle on oil-drizzled veggies before roasting

Combine 2 lbs pork shoulder, 3 T blend & 1 cup chicken broth in slow cooker; cook on low for 6-8 hours; shred & serve on toasted buns.

Toss 2 lbs wings with 3 T olive oil , 3 Tbsp Honey, & 3 T blend.  Spread on prepared baking pan, cover with foil and roast in 400F for 35-45 min.

Zesty Asparagus
Drizzle asparagus with olive oil; sprinkle with blend & sea salt; toss & roast in 400F oven for 8-10 min.

Jamaican Jerk Burgers
Combine 2 T blend, 2 T lime juice & 2 T soy sauce; mix into 1 lb ground beef or pork; form into patties & grill.

Chicken Montego Marinade
Combine 4 T blend, 4 T fresh lime juice,  1 cup orange juice, 2 T soy sauce & 2 T olive oil; marinate chicken, pork or shrimp for 1-3 hours; remove from marinade and grill or roast.

We got fillet mignon cut into bite size cubes marinated overnight with this seasoning, white vinegar (or white wine vinegar), olive oil, soy sauce and lemon juice. (Recipe is on the label but we did not have OJ) and cooked it in iron skillet. It was superb. Now this seasoning is our favorite.

My sent this to me years ago when it was called Montego Bite. I recently used on my greens!!! It took them to a totally different level!!! I'm all out and now and have to search for it. It's worth the hunt!

It was wonderful to use and very simple. We loved the taste that it added to our macaroni salad, that extra little bit of bite. Perfect! I can't wait to try something else. We used it for our pork roast and it was out of this world!
